I have recently found out that running can actually be detrimental to your health because of the stress on your heart and lungs. The book talks about how runners who run long distance have been found to have smaller lung oxygen capacity and a smaller more stressed heart as well. When these are constricted like this you don't get as much oxygen to your body and your heart is more prone to have a heart attacks.

By doing this you create what is called an oxygen deficit which make's it so that your lungs are short on oxygen and you need to take a break in order to "catch your breathe" when you do this you actually expand your lung capacity because it's forcing them to expand whereas when you run long distance your lungs constrict because they need to become more efficient over time. Thankfully you don't have to run long distance and put stress on your heart and lungs because there are alternative workout routines.

I recommend that you either walk or run in sprints instead of long distance when working out now after reading this book.
