I am a 61 year old woman with polio. My doctors said NO to a treadmill or even long walking because of safety issues. I had broken my femur bone THREE times. This machine is so far JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED. It is just great for me. I personally put it together, the tension seems fine (I am small) and it is adjustable it has a SMOOTH turn. It does NOT slip. You can use it with your legs if you want but I only use my arms. What a wonderful machine. It even has a timer which I need to learn about. It is easy to do and you can make it harder if you want. I am thrilled so far. If something happens to it and I change my mind I'll let you know but if your doc says its okay then this does NOT have to be a heavy work out. The machine itself weighs a bit so I am careful when I pick it up. So far it's perfect!!
UPDATE: i have had it for several months now and I still give it FIVE stars. This is the BEST thing I have bought along with a few other of my favorites. It is a WONDERFUL machine IN MY OPINION Especially if you are disabled and want upper body or even lower pedaling as well. The tension is great, it is silent and I can use it while I watch TV The size is terrific. It's heavy enough so it does not move when you are using it but light enough for me to control it. It's just for me a perfect machine I am glad my professionals recommended an ergometer as SAFE exercise equipment. I use it and can do it in spurts as my energy capacity allows. GREAT machine FOR ME! For anyone else of course it depends on you and what your doctor or professional okays. I have paralysis and bad bone issues in one polio affected leg so upper body is wonderful for ME. I thank the creators of this machine. It is life saving for me! You have to put it together when you get it but for me it was a piece of cake to do. Very easy, just take your time, don't be rused, read the instructions to help and most anyone with a little intelligence can do it in my opinion! |

| I had to stop walking for exercise for awhile due to plantar fasciitis. When I started gaining weight, I realized that I needed to find something I can do until I'm able to walk without foot pain again. We were planning an extended RV trip so I started looking for a cycling machine that wasn't too heavy to move and wouldn't take up too much room in the RV. After reading some of the reviews, I settled on the MagnaTrainer and I absolutely love it! I'm able to exercise each morning before we begin the day's trip. It fits easily under the dining table while we travel and pulls out for use each morning. It grips the carpet well. I didn't need the velcro strap because, if you don't "push" on the pedals, it stays in place. I don't like the foot straps but it's easy to just use the other side of the pedals. I don't really trust the display. I don't feel that I'm cycling as fast as it says and can't believe that I'm burning that many calories, but that's OK. I just check my time, knowing that I'm getting some exercise and I do break a sweat. I used it in my living room before we started our trip and plan to put it back there when we get home. I'll continue using it even after I can walk again because I can read or watch TV while exercising. It really is worth the price. |

| I work from home most days as an IT Consultant and wanted to get a machine to burn some calories while sitting at the computer. This is a really great machine since it has a wide range of tension levels, and I really feel the workout in my legs. The machine does move, so I put a little box against the wall and if you remember to push down as you pedal, the machine remains stabe. This is also great when watching TV! |

| Very good quality except for selection knob (needs to be more sturdy). It much too easy to dial and seems very easy to break off. Other than that this unit is quiet and hefty. |

I bought this item to assist with my mom's therapy sessions. Product seems good considering the price but after using it, we realized that there were a couple of short comings; First of all, the Base isnt wide enough to support it when it's in use,Therefore it would need to have a better platform to keep it steady and stable when in use. Secondly, the unit has a tendancy of sliding away from the user making it very awkward and uncomfortable to use.My suggestion towards the inadequacies of this unit are: Unit need to be Improve by installing a better gripping system under the base...Add an anti slide or a grip mat as part of the unit package to accommodate for those known issues. Also the pedals seemed to be a bit fragile because I had an issue when mounting or assembling the unit. My experience with the broken pedal could have been an isolated situation but I thought it would be important to mention every thing I notice about the unit...whether it good, bad or indifferent.
Unit should be contructed into a more rugged design as the mechanism is base on moving parts and also taking into consideration that it's being use under intense pressure due to brisk movement...However,the most amazing factor of my experience purchasing this unit is the SELLER. The seller ensures that the customer is satisfied at any cost. Seller was very proactive in resolving my issue as quickly as possible. Shipping on both the unit and replacement part were extremely fast. Seller responded very quickly to all queries submitted as it pertains to the item purchased. Very friendly and courteous customer service. Other sellers out there should take note from this seller on how to run effective business. Seller has excellent business ethics with customers satisfaction a priority. Great job...Keep it up! |
